Football

One of my favorite sports is football.  I first started playing in a pop-warner league in 5th grade.  Before that season I had been very unathletic, but after all the football training I went through I found myself much faster and stronger.  That season my I played middle line-backer (even though I was the smallest kid on the team) and my team went to the state semifinals.  After 5th grade I went to Paragon for middle school, where I could only play flag football.  Flag football was pretty fun, but I enjoy tackle much more.  This year I played tackle football for the first time in 3 years for Anderson.  I played fullback and noseguard for B team, and even though we had a terrible record, I had alot of fun.  Right now I am in offseason football, where we are doing alot of weight lifting and running.  I spend a alot of my freetime lifting weights and running to get ready for the next football season.  Over the past two weeks Ive been less busy, and had more time to hang out with friends.  We are about to start bootcamp in football and im pretty nervous, although I am pretty happy that I got into the good group for bootcamp.

Love

I think its much better to fall in love.  Even though throughout history people have "learned to love eachother"  I think it causes alot of unhappiness and resentment between people.  If you are gonna live with someone for the rest of your life then I think its pretty important that you really love them.  Otherwise you are just going to be unhappy and hate that person.  Other the past two weeks i celebrated my birthday, which was on february 12.  For the first time I didnt have a party, because I think it would of been tough to decide who do invite, since alot of my friends are from different social "groups" and dislike eachother.

Global warming

Austin is a very environment concious city, so ive seen alot of efforts to cut down on global warming in my community.  Almost everyone I know recycles, and I see alot of hybrids and small cars driving around, even some smart cars.  The city is often planting grass and trees to combat carbon dioxide emissions.  Over the past two weeks Ive been pretty busy with school work, especially with math.  I just moved up from regular to pre-AP math and its alot harder.

Technology

Some of the most common types of technology I use are my computer, my xbox, my cellphone, my TV, and my Ipod.  Most of these things allow me to communicate with people easier, and stay in touch with people I don't normally see in person.  I also spend alot of my free time using this technology, like playing Xbox or using facebook on my computer.  I think the computer is definately in the same category as the invention of fire or the wheel, considering how much it has changed our society.  Over the past two weeks ive been trying to get used to going to school again, after the long winter vacation.

culture blog project

I like this project, i thought it was interesting to see what other people in the world thought of some of the big issues here, and what its like for them.  I think its definately the easiest project i have ever had to do.  It was cool reading other peoples blogs from other countries and seeing how different and alike we are.

My country's diversity

The U.S has an extremely diverse population, with  people who live here who come from every single country in the world.  There is now a larger total population of minorities than the white majority, with thousands of new people arriving on our boarders every year.  At my school alone I have friends of many ethnicities, for example Indian, Chinese, Russian, Jewish, Spanish and Ethiopian just to name a few.  Our country is usually very excepting of cultural and ethnic diversity, with very little racism still existing in the US.

My favorite place

My favorite place in America is probably Hawaii.  Ive always loved going to the beach, and Hawaii has some of the most beautiful beaches and best weather I have ever seen.  It is a great place for me to just go and relax.  The rainforests are also a very cool part of Hawaii, with diverse vegetation and wildlife, and many beautiful sights to see.  The people are very nice and welcoming, and I definately look forward to my next trip there.
